Tara N. Reimche

In Memoriam

Tara Nadene Reimche passed away in February 2024 after a fifteen-year journey with cancer. After being diagnosed in 2009, she faced this journey head-on with courage and resilience and made it into a catalyst for post-traumatic growth. She chose to make the rest of her life the best of her life: she took every opportunity to spend time with family and friends, pursued as many adventures as she could, and always found the will to take just one more step.

Serving others and making a difference was very important to her in both her work and personal life. She was proud of being an IT professional for nearly 25 years and worked in various roles including computer programmer and business analyst. For almost a decade, she was a dedicated public servant for the Alberta government in the Department of Education. She served Albertans and supported success for all Alberta K-12 students through supporting the effective use of technology for learning, teaching and administration, especially for students where technology is essential to make learning possible.

She was excited to rediscover her passion for ethical hacking and thrilled to be chosen from thousands of applicants across Canada to receive over $20,000 in accelerated cybersecurity training in 2020 funded by the federal government and industry partners. She was hired by Royal Bank as soon as she finished training and was delighted to be part of its Global Cybersecurity Unit and help RBC fulfill its purpose of helping clients thrive and communities prosper by protecting customers’ information and financial assets from cyber threats.

She volunteered for numerous causes and supported and encouraged others living with cancer.

One of her favorite quotes was from Hellen Keller: “Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all.” She loved telling stories about her many adventures and mishaps.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Jason, mother Orlene, father Leo (Lisette), brother Jayd (Lisa), and nieces Raina and Selah, in-laws, and many other family members and friends.

Tara put her faith and hope in God. She was a loving wife, daughter, sister and friend. She will be loved and remembered always.

There will be a celebration of life at the Lacombe Community Seventh-day Adventist Church in Lacombe, Alberta on the afternoon of Sunday, March 24, 2024 beginning at 12:00 with fellowship to follow. A livestream of the service will be available on the Lacombe Community SDA Church YouTube page. https://www.youtube.com/@lacombecommunitysdachurch6256/streams
